Question 1

Which Cambridge hotels are pet friendly?

Accepted Answer

Six Cambridge hotels in our listings accept pets: Travelodge Cambridge Central, The University Arms, The Varsity Hotel and Spa, Hotel Du Vin, Turing Locke, ibis Cambridge Central Station, and Graduate by Hilton Cambridge. Policies and fees vary — The Varsity charges £28 per night (2026 rates), so always confirm the current fee when booking.

Question 2

Which Cambridge hotel is best for dogs near green space?

Accepted Answer

The University Arms is hard to beat for dog owners — Parker's Piece, a 25-acre green, is directly outside the front door and accessible without crossing any roads. The Varsity Hotel is a close second, with Jesus Green and riverside walking paths just two minutes from the entrance. Turing Locke also suits dog owners well, with quiet surroundings, smooth pavements, and green space within minutes — though the location is far removed from the historic city centre.

Question 3

Do pet friendly Cambridge hotels charge a fee for dogs?

Accepted Answer

At least one does: The Varsity Hotel charges £28 per night for dogs (2026 rates). The other pet friendly hotels in our listings — including Travelodge Cambridge Central, the University Arms, Hotel Du Vin, Turing Locke, ibis Cambridge Central Station, and Graduate by Hilton — do not publicly advertise a per-night dog fee, but you should confirm directly with each hotel before booking as policies can change.

Question 4

Which pet friendly Cambridge hotel has the easiest parking for guests with dogs?

Accepted Answer

Travelodge Cambridge Central and Turing Locke are the most practical options for guests arriving by car with a dog. Travelodge offers validated parking for just £7 per 24 hours (2026 rates) directly beside the hotel, while Turing Locke has on-site paid parking and dedicated on-street bays. Hotel Du Vin has no parking at all, and The Varsity's valet service costs £35 per night and requires 20 minutes' notice to retrieve your car — less than ideal if you need to come and go freely with a dog.

Question 5

Is the Graduate by Hilton Cambridge pet friendly?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Graduate by Hilton is pet friendly. It sits on a quiet dead-end lane on the River Cam, which makes it an appealing option for dog owners who want a calm base with scenic walking nearby. Bear in mind that during peak tourist season, the adjacent Scudamores punting yard brings noise and footfall, so it is not entirely tranquil in summer.

Question 6

Which pet friendly Cambridge hotel is best for a quiet stay with a dog?

Accepted Answer

Turing Locke is the quietest pet friendly hotel in our listings — no nightlife noise, no passing traffic, and smooth pavements with green space nearby. The significant trade-off is that it sits on the northern edge of Cambridge, well out of walking range of the historic centre, colleges, and restaurants. If you want quiet but still within the city, The Varsity Hotel on Thompson's Lane offers a peaceful residential street just two minutes from Jesus Green and the River Cam.
