Question 1

Which Cambridge hotels offer EV charging?

Accepted Answer

Premier Inn Cambridge North (Girton) is the hotel in our Cambridge dataset that offers EV charging on site. It is located on Huntingdon Road near the northern edge of the city, with a surface-level car park where the charging points are available. If you need EV charging combined with free parking, this is currently your only confirmed option among reviewed Cambridge hotels.

Question 2

Is EV charging free at Cambridge hotels?

Accepted Answer

At Premier Inn Cambridge North (Girton), EV charging is available on site alongside free parking (validated at reception). The hotel's own FAQ confirms both perks, though it does not specify whether the EV charging itself carries an additional cost — it is worth confirming directly with the hotel before arrival.

Question 3

Do any Cambridge hotels offer both free parking and EV charging?

Accepted Answer

Yes — Premier Inn Cambridge North (Girton) offers both free parking and EV charging, which is a genuine rarity given that city centre Cambridge hotels can charge £45 or more per 24 hours for parking alone. The trade-off is a location that feels more like a motorway stopover than a city hotel, with the city centre a 35–40-minute bus ride away.

Question 4

Is EV charging available near Cambridge city centre hotels?

Accepted Answer

Based on our reviewed hotels, EV charging at a hotel is only confirmed at Premier Inn Cambridge North (Girton), which is on the outskirts of the city rather than the centre. If staying centrally is a priority, you will likely need to use a public charging network elsewhere in Cambridge rather than relying on your hotel.

Question 5

Is Premier Inn Cambridge North a good choice for EV drivers?

Accepted Answer

It is a practical choice if EV charging and free parking are your priorities — the surface-level car park is easy to access and the hotel is just five to ten minutes from the A14 and M11. However, be aware the location has no city feel, the building is notably uninviting, and the city centre is a 35–40-minute bus ride away. It suits drivers making a functional stopover far better than those wanting a Cambridge experience.

Question 6

Are there any Cambridge hotels with EV charging close to the motorway?

Accepted Answer

Premier Inn Cambridge North (Girton) is the closest match — it offers EV charging on site and sits approximately five to ten minutes by car from the A14 and M11 junction. It is a straightforward option for EV drivers passing through or using Cambridge as a base for a motorway-adjacent trip, though it offers very little in the way of local atmosphere.
